Meet the Author

Cindy Ortego has always been a storyteller, but A Lesson from the Coop is her first children’s book. Cindy believes stories are waiting to be written and told all around us. She hopes you enjoy peeking inside this special coop and love the characters as much as she does!

Cindy has lived in South Louisiana all her life and loves her Cajun heritage. The Cajun dialect of the narrator in The Magic of the Rubber Boots reminds her of those she grew up with, listening to stories about life in this beautiful part of Louisiana.
